DexterBee GmbH ("we", "us", "our") built Audionote AI Recorder as a commercial app available on the Apple App Store. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our app and the choices you have associated with that data.

1 Data We Collect and Why

Audio Recordings

Stored on device & iCloud

When you record voice memos or calls, the audio file is saved locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, recordings are stored in your private iCloud container — accessible only to you.

Transcripts & Summaries

Processed externally

To generate transcriptions, AI summaries, and smart Q&A answers, audio or text may be sent to third-party AI services (including Apple's Speech Recognition framework and large-language-model APIs). These services process your data solely to return results. We do not use your content to train models.

Microphone Access

The app requests microphone permission to record audio. Recording only occurs when you explicitly tap the record button. We never record in the background without your knowledge.

Purchase Information

Via Apple

Subscription and credit-pack purchases are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Crash & Diagnostic Data

If you opt in via iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics, Apple may share anonymised crash logs with us. This data contains no personally identifiable information.

2 Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or account credentials.
  • We do not use advertising SDKs or sell your data to third parties.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not store recordings on our own servers.

3 Third-Party Services

The app may use the following third-party services:

  • Apple Speech Recognition — on-device and server-based transcription. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple StoreKit — in-app purchases. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Large-Language-Model APIs — for AI summaries and Q&A. Data sent is limited to the text of your transcripts and is not used for model training under standard API agreements.

4 Data Retention

Your recordings, transcripts, and summaries are stored on your device and/or iCloud until you delete them. You can delete all data at any time by removing the app or clearing data in iOS Settings.

5 Children's Privacy

Audionote AI Recorder is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6 Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Since we do not store personal data on our servers, the primary tool for exercising these rights is your device and iCloud settings. For any further requests, contact us at the address below.

7 Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
